BASTA AMERICA IN EUROPA! BASTA PSEUDO GIORNALISTI ASSERVITI! BASTA A UN SERVIZIO PUBBLICO UNILATERALE DEGNO DEL PEGGIOR REGIME!</p>Frillye Freakalylliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04024633040534548477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8485155700902796049.post-79062411317464540552018-04-22T16:14:00.003+02:002018-04-22T16:14:39.688+02:00An amazing novel filled with adventure and insight on human behaviour.The novel I'm recommending today has been a great revelation to me. <div class="MsoNormalCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">One word: fantastic! I have absolutely loved
this book from the very beginning. The setting is that of Lord of the Flies,
only with a fresh, contemporary cut. A group of teens, forming the fencing team
of the private school Drake Rosemond, find themselves stranded on an island
after a plane crash. The small island is mostly covered by the thick vegetation
of a jungle, an overwhelming environment to which the youths must adapt
quickly, just as they must immediately deal with the loss of some of their
companions. Thanks to Mel, a capable and pragmatic young woman, having
extensive knowledge about plants and natural things, they manage to settle down
to an acceptable routine, while finding their way around the island, hoping
they will soon be rescued. Nonetheless, help doesn’t come; instead they are
faced with a new problem: they are not alone on the island, and whoever lives
there wants them out without delay. As time goes by, difficulties and fear
bring out each person’s true personality, for good and for bad. Some find they
perfectly fit with this new, wild environment, others find a purpose in their
life. This does not apply to Mel and Sam though, they have someone to get back
to, and they can see beyond the idyll of the moment. The relationships between
the members of the group have already been put to the test many times, on the
long run things could degenerate dangerously as the balances of power switch
rapidly.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">This book is a perfect balance of pace and
exploration of the circumstances and behaviours of the characters. Details of
each person’s history trickle throughout the narration, forming a background
allowing the reader to understand the character’s actions. However, you can
also perceive how each youth evolves from that background, drawing on the new
circumstances to bring out aspects of their personality that their former
situation had not allowed to emerge. The author makes a truly masterly job out of
portraying her characters; with fairness and realism she shows both the
positive qualities and the hidden dark corners in the souls of all her
protagonists. They are so well depicted that the whole of mankind is reflected
in them. I personally found myself very close to Sam’s personality, I even
found myself loathing the way some among the characters behave, but then I
stopped to think. I asked myself whether I was so sure I would have been able
to stick to all of my convictions so strongly and unyieldingly in such a
situation. I couldn’t give myself an answer, so I came to the conclusion that
most of us contain most of the good and bad shown by each of those youths, and
until you’re tested you can only hope you’ll be able to remain the righteous
person you are in your usual circumstances. Yes, I do believe there are
personalities more inclined to compassion and others to selfishness. I do
believe the concepts of justice, right and wrong, remain the same even in
extreme conditions. What can be debated, instead, is whether most of us would
still be able to elaborate those concepts keeping the same coordinates that
guide us in daily life.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">This book offers plenty of food for thoughts on
many issues, including the hypocrisy hidden behind many ordinary conventions,
and how even the best of people can be superficial or naive in certain
instances. This novel would be a great choice for an open discussion at the
library. Also, the narration is gritty but never gruesome, and when it is
delicate, it is never quixotic.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="mso-ansi-language: EN-US;">Great style, very well written and rich in
content.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

One of
the best reads I have stumbled upon lately. It consists of several short
stories, spanning a century, if you also consider events that are narrated by
some of the characters. All the stories are linked by a common denominator: an
old car, a Chevy 1959. Writing interesting short stories is a rather difficult
task, but the author created a real masterpiece here. Each story frames a
detail, a specific situation in the life of each character, and doing so, it
portrays an incredibly rich galaxy of human feelings and behaviours. The former
being a constant, the latter changing with the changing times. I could not but
admire Claire Rye’s insight into the human way of thinking; ability that must
proceed from a careful and sensitive observation of people. Also, the idea of
narrating a piece of common people history through the story of a car is
somewhat poetic. First of all the car is a vehicle, so, even conceptually, what
better prop to transport you across the decades? This car in particular, as it
is also written in the second to last story, becomes a sort of time machine in
order to do just that. I do not have a passion toward cars as such; still, cars
do somehow become part of a family’s life, don’t they? There are many memories
linked to specific vehicles you have owned through your life. I myself have
bought my own little car twenty years ago, and I can say that I have sort of
grown old with her, she has witnessed so many of my experiences, and been a
silent confidante for so many outburst of feelings, that I couldn’t have been
able to share with other people, for matters of convenience… Solitary speeches,
song creations, poetry writing, short naps and much more, have all happened in
that little metal shelter. Maybe also for this reason I was so delighted in
this book. There is so much in it, that I think any person could find a piece
of themselves in one story or the other. If I were asked, I wouldn’t know which
story to pick as my favourite, starting from the first one to the very last
one, none is pointless, no words are wasted, they are all essential parts of
the final puzzle. There are some that are moving, such as the ones regarding
the Richardson family; some contain an element of fun mixed with exasperation,
such as the second one The Beginning; in others you will find the search for
freedom and emancipation, or loneliness and incomprehension, many different
themes. About loneliness and incomprehension, I think the story The Drifter
deserves a special mention because it touches a very sensitive topic, exploring
it from two opposite points of view and without any judgement on either side,
as I intended it. It is food for thought and also very moving.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span lang="EN-GB" style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt;">I will not disclose any details regarding the actual stories because I
don’t want to spoil other readers’ experience. I will say that the book is very
well written, in a sober and elegant style that you cannot remain indifferent
to. As a bonus, although it is not a novel, it still has a surprise ending,
which might even make you go back and pay attention to one detail you could
have missed in one of the previous stories.</span><br />

In fact, more than that, it is a lesson regarding the strength of will power. It is the story of Patrice Shavone Brown, a mental health counselor that has not had it all easy in her life, however she has fought for what she wanted to achieve and she has obtained it. The interesting thing about this book is the switch in perspective: the counselor, instead of being the observer, becomes the observed; the vulnerable one that has to overcome those obstacles that normally are related to her by patients.<br />

<br />
Author: Patrice Shavone Brown<br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify;">
<span lang="EN-US">I am very interested in reading books on
self-improvement, therefore, when I found out this book dealing with the ‘behind
the scenes’ of a Counselor and Motivator, I got rather curious. When I say
behind the scenes I don’t mean that the author reveals details about the people
she helps, but about her own background, what made her who she is. It was very
interesting to go through the pages and acknowledge how difficulties and
failures can transform you into a strong and assertive person, who knows where
she wants to get and focuses on her targets. It is, in fact, rather logical
that someone with so much life experience should have a lot to give to other
people, in terms of counseling and helping them overcome negative periods.
Also, for a person to know that their counselor has gone through difficulties
and has overcome them, becoming a successful person, should reinforce the trust
he/she feels for the professional, and the suggestions they get to resolve
their own problems.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt;">I have liked many aspects of this book: I gained a little insight into
an American community, followed a true story of emancipation, acquired a new
perspective regarding the figure of the counselor and the way the individual
life experiences might be used to help others. Also, the book is in itself a
sort of self-improvement course, if you are attentive to the pattern drawn by
the various life phases the author went through. The part of the book I
preferred is when the author narrates about her parents’ divorce and the way she
helped them to remain a family; I believe that part contains the essence of
what can be learned from this book.</span><br />

the very first page I was enchanted by the poetical flowing of the writing, then, another </span><span style="font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif; font-size: 12pt;">thing
I appreciated, was the many layers of reading that the story offers. First of
all the story itself, naturally, very original and fascinating. Secondly, a
profound reflection on what it means to be human, to have a soul, a conscience,
a sense of morality, and how this in itself is not sufficient to determine the
kindness and righteousness of a person. I leave the rest for you to discover, knowing that t</span><span style="font-family: TimesNewRomanPSMT, serif; font-size: 12pt;">his

thought it would be a children’s book, or something like a comical fantasy. It
turned out to be a story full of wonder, unfolding around three different
continents and many centuries. It is more than a fantasy book, its essence
resides on the border between reality, spirituality and enchantment. It
narrates of an ancient book of magic, of two ancient creatures that live
through the centuries, each in its own way trying to fill a void inside, and
finally about the two teenagers who will unleash the magic. I do not want to
disclose more than this, because this story deserves to be fully discovered by
the reader and believe me, there is so much to it. The rhythm is perfect, picking
up when the action starts and gently slowing down when it is time for
reflection; it is supported by a writing style which is both elegant, neat and
poetical, so that you can flow through the descriptions of places and feelings
as if you were experiencing them yourself. There is a lot of adventure in this
novel, a lot of feeling and emotion. Innocence, treason, courage and loyalty. Ashes,
straw, immortality, soul; what will the last choice be?<o:p></o:p></span></div>

The story I'm presenting today is one that has really gained a place in my heart. It is the story of a person, from childhood to adulthood, full of interesting notions, but above all a book that will make you think about delicate themes and that will touch your soul with some very intimate and moving passages.<br />

Author: Joss Sheldon<br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpFirst">
<span lang="EN-US">Yew
Shodkin is a person with an uncompromising personality that starts manifesting
when he is just a child, and the little creature living inside his head, the
egot, makes itself know in a rather flamboyant manner. Unfortunately for him,
the way he sees things does not comply with what society considers to be
respectable. He longs for nature, freedom, for an unstructured way of living,
the exact opposite of what he’s supposed to do. His unconventional behaviour
earns him many punishments, which, little by little, and with the aid of other
coercive methods of persuasion, lead him to suffocate his own aspirations in
order to conform to the rest of ‘civilization’. Yew isn’t happy though. He has
done everything that was asked of him; he has been a very good student, he has been
very dedicated and accurate in all the jobs he’s taken, even if they were below
his capabilities, nonetheless, success hasn’t smiled at him; he always seemed
to be somewhat transparent. At a certain point he realizes that there’s
something wrong in this situation, it just isn’t fair. This is when he decides
he’s had enough, he doesn’t want to be a puppet anymore, he wants to start
listening to his self again, to the little voice inside of him. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle">
<span lang="EN-US">It
is a very vividly narrated story that follows the style of an autobiography.
Some passages can be almost crude, both materially and psychologically. For
instance, in the description of the main character as a child, when he gets one
of his urges to do something out of the ordinary, such as pulling one of his
companion’s hair, making her cry, or, on the opposite direction, when he
suffers all kinds of provocation without defending himself, but he’s the one
getting punished all the same. Again, very poignant when the author describes
Yew’s experiences with drugs. To modern people, exposed to all kinds of
stimuli, the single episodes, summarized as I’m reporting them, might seem
almost trifling, but think back. Joss Sheldon has a way of entering into the
mind and flesh of his character, describing what happens to him in such a
manner, so real, so pure, that you cannot escape entering into that mind and
flesh yourself, feeling all of those experiences on your very skin. The book is
written beautifully, both in the way of pace and for the choice of language.
Never vulgar, never brutal, not even in the crudest moments, I would say at
times it is really lyrical, though free of drama. The slow agony of the egot, for
instance, is a good example of this, but the climax is reached at the end of
the book, with that epilogue that brings everything together and is so
incredibly touching.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

<span lang="EN-US">This
is a very very intense book, a heavy one in terms of contents. There are
notions of psychology, quotes of great wisdom and many concepts that are food
for debate. All of this offered to the reader in a light and elegant style.<o:p></o:p></span></div>

I have come across a comment I had written in the occasion of a visit to an art exhibition in Forlì (Musei di San Domenico). The artist presented was Wildt, a sculptor who was active in the first half of last century, and who wasn't given his fair share of importance in the following years. I was astonished by the quality of his work, that moves me even now, when for some reason it pops into my mind. For this reason I have decided to post this piece of writing anew, in the hope it might light up someone else's curiosity towards this artist too.<br />
<br />
<h3>
Wildt: The expressive hermeticism of synthesis.</h3>
<br />I will start by saying that I know almost nothing about Wildt as a person, everything that is written here only wants to express the flood of emotions that the work of this artist has aroused in me, regardless of the context in which he operated.<br />The first thing that hits you like a shock wave is the impression than Munch's soul has dressed in Canova's clothes. In Canova’s work the translucent smoothness of the marble represents a further step towards the harmony and perfection sought by the Classics, so lightly offering, if need be, something more of sweetness and softness also in tragedy. That same quality, in Wildt’s work, clears instead the way to the explosive interior stream that blazes mute and black from those empty eyes, just like the soundless scream tearing the soul with its shrieking. The smoothness is mortal pallor or pure essence of the soul, pure but earthly, soul not spirit, super nos but not rarefied.<br />Pain is physical, muscular and writhed, but melts into a dry, gnarled twig that climbs, like a soaking rag, to a new life. It finds its harmony in the two splendid figures hand in hand and in perfect balance onto a futuristic oblique disc, almost a flying carpet overlooking all that remains, so square and obvious. In Wildt's work the sentiment that overwhelmingly pours out of the figure, is in contrast with the cold detachment of the figure itself from everything that is outside it, and here a thought goes to Leopardi...<br />Just then, though, the act of tenderness is revealed when the abyss in the bottom of the eyes is hidden by closed lids, so light, as a soul delivered from torment; or again in the faces of the children, so beautiful. <br />And what can be said about St. Francis's head, hanging in between asceticism and irony; I'm under the impression that the relationship between the artist and religion was somewhat trying, if not even troublesome, this has hit me on different occasions. I don't mean to suggest that he refused or sneered at it, rather that he reputed the Church not up to its divine purpose and the Divine too distant from human suffering. From this premise, the bitter (or wry) smile on the face of St. Francis, the most saint among humans; or, again, the tragedy of the “Adoptive Mother”. <br />Wildt is not just an immense sculptor, he is also a man of great concept and with an extraordinary ability in the use of words, the titles of his art pieces are remarkable and represent a great added value to his work.<br />As we proceed along this path we become evermore aware of just how scholarly Wildt's work is, how rich with references to sculptures and paintings of all ages. There is so much classic in these angular and stylized figures, I must say this aspect has moved me deeply and I believe it to be the very core of Wildt geniality: the specific weight of the classic in a style that teaches to the future, how marvelous! But again, in his work we find the middle ages - in those bony heads wrapped in veils, we find Klimt's golds and his disjointed geometrical positions, we find contrasts of full and empty volumes and shapes that are part of the sci-fy imaginary of our very days!<br />Finally, a whole section has been dedicated to the drawings, so slender yet filled with significance, they make me think of a Klee fallen into Hades.<br />It has been an enlightening progress that among the rooms of this exhibition, impeccably arranged in this environment, which, on my opinion, is particularly apt to the purpose.<br />

<br />
Titolo: <a href="https://www.amazon.it/dp/B01N32OM4R" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><b>Quando Comunicare Diventa Semplice</b></a><br />
Autori: Floriana Bertucci e Davide Bombarda<br />
<br />
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpFirst" style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;">

Infine due concetti a me

novel is set in the scenario of a non professional boat race lasting a week.
Most characters are rough sailors, looking for a good time, away from everyday
life, fully immersed in alcohol, sex and fun. Nonetheless, within the
kaleidoscope of characters pictured by the author, there is also space for
love, poetry and a reflection upon the significance of life. <o:p></o:p></span></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;">
<span lang="EN-US">I
am not passionate about boats and I am not familiar with the boating
environment, so it took me a little while before being able to dive into the
narration, also because I have very little in common with many of the people
populating the story. However, my perseverance has paid off. In fact, this book
has many layers and many stories interweaving. The action is carried on by
everything happening during the daily races, the rivalry between the two
stronger skippers, the side stories of the various fleet members. There is also
the precarious love story between the indomitable pit-girl and the romantic
writer. But my attention was stolen by three characters in particular: the two
tacticians, Ortun and Kevin Jonson and, of course, the devil. Kevin Jonson represents
mystery, what is ancestral, immutable and powerful, regardless of all the
transient and trivial everyday situations. Ortun represents poetry, music,
grace. He is the depth of the ocean and the lightness of a feather. While the
devil needs living beings beside him, to fill his eternal hollowness, Kevin
Jonson and Ortun are whole, they are one with all the existent, therefore they
stand above the circumstances in which they choose to act. The devil is a
masterpiece. The author makes a truly original portrait of this figure. He
features as himself, relating to the people around him in the most natural way.
There is nothing threatening surrounding him; of course, some prefer to keep
him at a distance, avoid his ambiguity. Nonetheless, I would say that more than
cunning he displays a sort of cynical sense of humour which is rather
enjoyable, especially when it is considered in the light of his inner
speculations, about his own nature and the nature of his dealings with living
beings. This philosophical/psychological aspect of the book is the one I
prefer. I delight in stories exploring the essence of things and the inner
thoughts of people, and in this novel I found some valuable pages to kindle my
interest, pages that are also written in a very poetical style. One of the
passages I have preferred is the conversation between the devil and a
snowflake, a moving sparkle to ignite a reflection upon the intimate value of
beauty and the overwhelming power of life. Another memorable passage comes at
the end, in the last conversation
between the devil and Dan, the skipper of Nefarious. </span>I leave it for you
to read and enjoy. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt;">I would like to conclude this review with a recommendation: read this
book at least twice. It is a complex book, not a simple and linear one. There
is so much to it, the language is rich and there are many characters to be
discovered, besides a little final riddel. Too much to be fully taken in during
the first read. Follow my advice and you’ll see there are some gems to be found
here.</span></div>

connotati originali.
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;">
<span lang="IT">La storia narrata è avvincente,
piena di colpi di scena e cambiamenti di ambientazione e di realtà temporale. I
</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;">
<span lang="IT">Mi è piaciuta anche l’ambientazione,
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="MsoNormalCxSpMiddle" style="text-align: justify;">

<br />
The title is: <a href="https://www.amazon.com/First-Fired-Last-Hired-reasons-ebook/dp/B075QKPVHC" rel="nofollow" target="_blank"><b>First Fired, Last Hired</b></a><br />
Author: C. Edwin Gill<br />
<br />
Do not be taken aback by the subtitle, this book can be useful to many people for different life situations, not only for job seekers.<br />
I read a review on Amazon saying that the content was not of great benefit to the user because it just reported very simple, common sense notions. I'm not sure that that is completely true, but even so, don't we all need, from time to time, to be given a little shake and be shown back to that simple path of common sense we might be unwittingly leaving? Sometimes it happens to become so embedded in one's habits that those behaviours seem to be the most straight forward, logical and sensible way to universal truth. We can all learn to do a little better, not in an obsessive way, naturally; it just takes a little bit of good humoured self-irony to understand one's defects and try to improve on them. No sense of guilt involved for any mistakes of the past or not being able to achieve everything in the blink of an eye.<br />
A few years back, finding myself in a rather rotten situation, I have embarked on a positive thinking path (not in a fanatical way, I'm too distractible for that kind of constancy). Many, many times, not seeing the results, I thought to myself it was all crap, one great illusion for gullible people. Nonetheless, I never completely left that path, even in the worse moments, I kept hanging on that thin thread, telling myself that even if it didn't solve my material problems, still, it made me feel a little better than just moping every day for being such a failure.<br />
So, where does this book fit into the scene. In fact, a few weeks back I had the chance to read it, I quite enjoyed it and it also amused me to find some of my own behaviours reported in it. Not so much as far as my actual job is concerned, but in my strive to achive my personal goals, that are way beyond the job I do for a living. A few days after finishing the book, I was still thinking about it, in particular about the idea of writing 'to do' lists. I have been doing this for some years now, but with limited results, then suddenly what I was doing wrong dawned on me . I was just building general long lists of every single task I had to complete. A monumental job! Obviously, I couldn't keep up with it all in such a way as to make it tangible for me that I was fulfilling tasks, achieving results. Following the book's guidance, I started making small daily lists of things that it was feasible to complete, and that, little by little, would allow me to complete the bigger task. Since then I have becomed much more efficient, I feel I have concrete things to do, so I do not allow myself to sit for ages making abstract plans or weeping over my own shoulder for things that I'm missing. I feel I have my daily mission, and it gives me satisfaction to tick off one by one the things I had set myself to do. With this very simple suggestion, I have achieved many results: I feel better, more energized, because I can see clearly what I have to produce during that day. That is also good for physical health. I am slowly but surely making progress on all the many activities that I hope some day will be my bread winners. Still, even if that shouldn't happen, I have found anew the dimension of enjoyment when working on them, whilst before they had become a sort of heavy load that I needed to carry, in order to reach a promised land that never appeared at the horizon.<br />
All this to say that I'm grateful to the author, and I'm grateful for the chance I had to read the book. I invite many others to read it too, with no prejudice, only a good dose of sense of humour, and not hoping to find a recipe for miracles. Such a recipe doesn't exist to my knowledge; but with willpower and a little help you can build your little ordinary, daily miracles and maybe one day you will wake up and discover you can touch the stars.<br />

However, I have recently started reading quite a few books from indipendent authors, this has triggered a thought. Why not use this blog to share some of the reviews I have written for these books.<br />
As usual, some of my posts will be in English and some in Italian, according to the content; also, I shall continue, every now and again, to post about art exhibitions, concerts I might have particularly enjoyed or any extemporaneous topic that may pop into my mind and which I feel like sharing.<br />
<br />
Just to start with the right foot, I will share with you the review I wrote for a book I recently read.<br />

Cervantes is a good natured, young family man who falls victim to a false
accusation of violence during a pacific environmental protest interrupted by
the arrival of anarchic groups. Meanwhile, the boss of the biotech firm for
which he works, a young, vane and rather careless guy, gets involved with a
shady underground organization who has promised him new business and whose
actions he naively finds exciting and brave. His lack of judgment will have
heavy consequences for many members of the company.<o:p></o:p></span></div>
<span lang="EN-US" style="font-family: "times new roman" , "serif"; font-size: 12.0pt;">I got very much into the story and was reading nonstop. Great character
description and the right amount of suspense, supported by a well chosen pace,
make of this a very pleasant fiction book. There are some violent scenes, but
always described avoiding useless splatter details. It also makes you think how
easy it could be for a perfectly normal, easy going and honest citizen, to get
caught into a vicious net, from which it can be very hard to escape unscathed,
physically or morally. A very pertinent topic, given our present day situation.</span>Frillye Freakalylliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04024633040534548477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8485155700902796049.post-52616733431830467232015-07-12T13:23:00.000+02:002015-07-12T13:23:09.807+02:00Europe and GreeceI can't hold my tongue any longer on this issue. For months now, we've had to put up with this carousel, Greece in - Greece out. I mean, does Europe not have any sense of dignity left?! What sort of union is it, if people can be drawn in and kicked out whenever someone else pleases. Greece has big responsibilities and has made great errors, indeed, but European govenors have just the same, where were they when Greek politicians squandered European money in every direction. Why is there no control on how European money is spent by single states? Greece has great responsibilities and European Institutions are nonexistent. Furthermore, why is it that when we are talking of European Union all we keep hearing is Germany, Germany, Germany, France, Germany, Germany! What's this? I would like to introduce a sharp comment now, but I shall withhold it and leave it to everyone's imagination. If there is to be a Union, then each State should have the same weight and recognition, in fact, it is about time to take a major decision. If the European Union is to exist, then it should become like the USA, <b>a union of federal states under a central government</b>. It is the only way forward. <b>I'm a convinced European</b>, and I sincerely hope for this to happen. But if not, then the Union is in deep trouble because, frankly, among the rest, I believe southern states should stop bearing to be treated by northern states as the poor naughty cousins, that should not be taken too seriously because they don't know how to do their homework too well, if this is to carry on, then tell them to go bathe with the seals and lets go our separate ways. But remember first classers, that western civilization was born here, and we still have that spark of geniality that keeps us on the roof of the world, and that liveliness that is given by beauty, sunshine, exquisite cuisine, and being the frontier between the west, the east and the south. I think there's enough in that to deserve plenty of respect!<br />
<b>I want a European Union where there's no space for the selfishness of single states, where each state is put into the situation to achieve its full potential</b> thus contributing to the welfare of the whole union. <b>I want a European Union where the emphasis is on society and people</b> and not on speculation, particular financial interests, banks, lobbies and so on.<br />
I find it disgraceful that European Union politicians should sit and talk about cancelling third world debts and then reduce one of their member states into a third wold country itself. Because this is what is happening with Greece, people are on their knees, what else can they give to the dratted burocrats? Of course they must pay their debts, but they must be spread in such a way that the population shouldn't suffer anymore hardship.<br />
The bottom line is:<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
HAIL TO A TRUE AND NEW EUROPEAN UNION!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
TO HELL WITH USELESS, INCAPABLE, SELFISH, COLD BLOODED, SPECULATING BUROCRATS!</div>

The novel is available as an ebook through Amazon for $2.99 and can be read for free through Kindle Unlimited. The paperback version is available on Amazon or through other retailers and if you buy the paperback you can download the ebook for free.<br />
The story is set in outer space but it evolves around the many adventures of two lovers: Nausikaa and Amon. It is a sort of romantic adult tale with fantasy atmospheres, suitable for all the dreamers around.<br />

At the Galleria Cinquantasei in Bologna, Italy, a collection of many collages by Giacomo Balla is on show. Not only a beautiful and unusual exhibition, it is even free! The pieces show the exceptional sense the artist had for the plastic use of line, shape and colour. Of course he was part of the Futurism movement but differently from others, he maintains a lightness in his work, also in the more geometrical pieces, that points more in the direction of abstract art rather than the heavier cubism. The thing that more than any other has caught my attention is his masterly style in using colour, not only the combination of different colours but the ability of expression by the use of single colour hues. Also, which is very near to abstract, the importance and subtlety of the line, whether you can see it or not in the general colour plot, great technique that does not celebrate itself leaving all the space to emotion!<br />
An absolute pleasure for the senses. The exhibition is titled Borderline and presents the work of many different Art Brut artists and other pieces by well known artists revolving around that period and concept. As happens very often with the exhibitions presented by MAR it is an original journey into an aspect of visual art that proves very interesting and deeply expressive, with some surprises and much to learn, especially for those, like me approaching art not as a professional expert but just as a lover in search of emotions.Frillye Freakalylliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04024633040534548477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8485155700902796049.post-33310631841603475902013-06-09T19:43:00.000+02:002013-06-10T00:38:24.599+02:00The Smile TherapyBack in 2006 I was going through one of my numerous difficult periods. One evening as I was walking and thinking about my miseries, a thought was thrown in my head ... why not try and smile in the face of trouble. Why not, if you haven't got any better idea you might as well try that. So I did. It worked for a little while then I went back to my usual mood, perseverance was never my strongest quality so to say. Still, that little seed was not washed away in the ocean of distress. Last year, right in the middle of another low peak I came across a little booklet on visualization, it was rather mind opening, not so much for all that was written, it was basically one single concept rewritten in all possible manners with not much space for practical advice and the concept was not so totally new to me, but the fact that it came into my hands at that peculiar time and the fact of reading and re-reading that idea over and over sort of fired my enthusiasm in trying again to exercise the power of my mind. This time I did it with a little more conviction and I was supported by different people that helped me refine the idea of what the mind can lead you to and gave me an insight into the forces and energy sources that surround us. As I said, they are not new concepts for me, I have always been interested in oriental disciplines and martial arts, but sometimes it's as if things need to be ripe before you can fully capture their significance and see beyond the words you are reading or listening. This last year has been a continuous learning process, a fight against my melancholy inclined personality to try and empower myself to reach the objectives I have set for my life. After years of hearing that Jesus said to turn the other cheek, only now do I fully grasp that concept, which is not being passive and too "good" to retaliate, it's the same as my smile therapy. If you respond to evil, bad luck, difficulties with distress, fear, bad mood, etc. you do nothing other than feed those negativities, if, instead, you answer with calmness, steadyness, warmth and smile, you starve them and eventually you will win them and clear your path from them. Naturally understanding the concept and being able to apply it is not the same thing. It takes time, perseverance, trust, hope, strength, there will be times when you'll fall back down, it doesn't matter, you haven't failed, slowly but surely, pick yourself up, use your fingers to lift the corners of your lips if necessary, do it, continue to do it. I am sure it will pay out. I have embarked in this venture, I get frustrated as nothing seems to be changing but I carry on, so many times I have picked myself up already but I carry on. I have also written myself a list of positive statements regarding my person and my life that I repeat with intention each night and whenever possible. I have always strongly believed in the power of the mind and also in fluxes of energy. I invite anybody reading and sharing my own situation to try this path, if I can anybody can, I'm sure.<br />
Thank you to all the people I met along the way that have helped me understand so many things!
Frillye Freakalylliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04024633040534548477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8485155700902796049.post-27353521649315032852012-11-06T19:27:00.000+01:002012-11-06T19:27:09.209+01:00Rights and DutiesMr Marchionne is helping to take this country back to the '800s, his behaviour lately resembles closely that of a few dictators that are best not be spoken out loudly, he shows not the least respect for people and thinks so highly of himself as to expect to have the stature for judging people on superficial personal information rather than based on the quality of the work they produce (if anything, only THAT is what he could possibly be called upon to judge). He's workers should have no brain to express opinions, they should only have hands and legs to produce and obey, in all this, rights are absolutely out of the question. Whatever he chooses to pay you, you should devoutly be thankful for, no matter how many hours he tells you you have to work, you should devoutly be thankful for, no matter how many promises and agreements he chooses to break, you should devoutly bow your head and pretend nothing happened. Does he think to be God or what? I personally cannot suffer God for such behaviour, think about a small insignificant piece of walking flesh tossed in the Universe such as Mr Marchionne!<br />
I would like to remind this sad gentleman and his puppet boss Mr Elkann that they are debtors to all Italians of a nice little capital our passed governments have given to FIAT, without which they would be bosses of nothing because that company would be dead and buried many years ago, so they owe people in this country a good deal of respect!<br />
I would also like to remind them that if there are no rights there are no duties either, which in my humble opinion, could land us all in a rather nasty predicament...<br />
Finally a thought for all my fellow workers: if each one of us would stop working for even just 1 penny less than what we are really worth, those few thousands fat arses would stop wallowing in gold on the skin and bones of billions of us (including poor children!!).Frillye Freakalylliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04024633040534548477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8485155700902796049.post-27560615019173037062012-10-21T19:34:00.001+02:002012-10-21T19:37:39.131+02:00Outcry of a creative soulI live in Italy, a country that has nurtured hundreds of artists, thinkers and makers of beauty during the centuries. In this day and age though, it seems that the political apparatus does everything it can to thwart the natural inclination of Italians towards creativity. If you want to advertise your work, or organize an exposition, sell out in the open, you obviously have to regularize your fiscal position, get a VAT number and all of that, which is fair enough, what is not fair is the amount of money you will have to pay in order to do so. We all know that art doesn't pay very well at least in the beginning, so either you have the capital to start with or you must renounce before even trying. On top of all that the burocracy is a total jungle. In this country there are more laws and categories than in the rest of the world put together, so if you do many different things at the same time there is no way of finding an etiquette for your business and you might end up paying twice for the same thing. I was actually told to give up something to make matters simpler!! What sort of thing is that to be asking from a person that lives for creativity!<br />
I must say I am throroughly disgusted and probably I'll end up going abroad... I don't understand the people of this country any more, everyday there's a new scandal, millions are being robbed from people that barely earn enough wages to get to the end of the month, yet nobody says anything. Have a little laugh when comedians show up politicians and let it be, this seems to be the trend.<br />
If it was up to me I would have the Germans run the country and send the Pope back to Avignon, maybe that way we could start making our way toward the future again!<br />
Good luck to poor Italy...Frillye Freakalylliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04024633040534548477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8485155700902796049.post-58163052107365830012012-04-24T00:47:00.001+02:002012-04-24T00:51:05.021+02:00Click here to support The Frillye Freakalillie Center For Art And Expression<a href="http://www.gofundme.com/frillyecenter" target="_blank">Click here to support The Frillye Freakalillie Center For Art And Expression </a><br />

Frillye Freakalylliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04024633040534548477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8485155700902796049.post-2625808578531294362011-07-21T22:21:00.000+02:002011-07-21T22:37:10.439+02:00Road Trippin'I got to know RHCP late, in 2005, I was rather prejudiced against them, thought them a bunch of porkies of some kind, nevertheless I started listening to the album Californication, as the songs went by I found I quite liked them, there was a sort of sensuality in the voice that paired beautifully to a music sounding direct and ever slightly raw, creating an uncompairable style. Then at the end there was Road Trippin, it completely captured my attention, almost had me crying, so simple yet so deeply poetic. That song made me completely fall in love with RHCP, I understood then that whatever said and done, there had to be something more profound in somebody able to write such a song than what a superficial glance could catch. After I did some research and learned about the band and the member's stories and although I now possess the full discography and enjoy most of their work past and present, Californication is still the one I feel more intimate with. There is so much soul and sufference yet deep joy to be found again, in that album, I feel I can almost touch the feelings in it and often even make them my own. To me it is an absolute masterpiece.Frillye Freakalylliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04024633040534548477noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8485155700902796049.post-33833321460171655012011-07-20T00:28:00.000+02:002011-07-20T00:34:15.981+02:00Racconto - parte 3Third and last episode on my short story<br /><br />You can view the old episodes in the archive section.<br /><br /><br /><a href="http://www.ediguvan.com/prosa"><span style="font-size:180%;"><br /></span></a><span style="font-size:180%;"><a href="http://www.ediguvan.com/Prosa.html">La Goccia Di Sangue - Part 3</a></span>Frillye Freakalylliehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04024633040534548477noreply@blogger.com
